3rd Annual Wreathmaking Benefitting the Fishermen's Memorial
Learn to make a holiday wreath with fresh cut greenery or, if you don’t feel crafty, we’ll make one for you. All materials provided.; however, if you have a particular wired ribbon you’d like to use, we’ll show you how to make a bow. Have greenery from your yard you’d like to incorporate into your wreath? Feel free to bring it. Students will sign up for either a morning or afternoon session. It takes about an hour to make a wreath.
Class hours:
Friday Dec. 12 2-4pm, 4-6pm
Saturday Dec. 13 10am-noon, noon-2pm
Sunday Dec. 14 10am-noon, noon-2pm
Class size is limited to 10 students per session

Westport Grayland Chamber or Commerce presents the 79th Annual Seafood Festival and Craft Show at the Westport Maritime Museum on Saturday August 30th.
Driftwood Show and Glass Float Beach Hunt, Photography Contest Too
Come join us for the 62nd Annual Driftwood Show and Glass Float Hunt Festival on August 23rd and 24th. at the Grayland Community Hall. Multiple vendors, food, music, cake walk, beer, and wine garden etc. So bring the whole family, and buy your Float hunting license for $6.00 starting at 8:00 a.m. on August 23rd. Information regarding how to win a glass float will be given when you purchase your license.
You can enter your Driftwood, driftwood art pieces, beach photos, and things found on the beach for a nominal $ win and prize ribbons.
Several age brackets.Plus we are having a photo contest. You may enter a beach-themed photograph on August 22nd between 4:00 to 8:00.

The Westport Grayland Chamber of Commerce presents the 28th Annual Westport Art Festival on August 15-16 at the Westport Marina. This event is free and open to the public, offering an opportunity to discover hidden gems on the coast. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact our Chamber office at 360-268-9422.

Tokeland Woodfest
The Tokeland-North Cove Chamber of commerce present Tokeland Woodfest at the Tokeland Hotel on August 9-10th. Featuring live chainsaw carving, beer garden, art festival, and live music. What started over 15 years ago as an annual carver party, Jeffro Uitto, a popular local wood artist & carver, now hosts a giant party that everyone is invited to. Woodfest has a local friendly vibe.
This event has grown in popularity, and traffic congestion can be an issue; therefore, parking at the Tokeland Hotel is reserved for guests and handicapped visitors only.
Elk River Boat Challenge
The Elk River Boat Challenge is a 3 or 7-mile human-powered boat race starting at Brady's Oysters on the beautiful Elk River Estuary. Registration starts at 9:00 am and pre-race meeting at 10:00 am. For information, please call 360-589-7000. Sponsored by Sound Rowers & Paddlers.
Ocean: Take a Closer Look
Take A Closer look at the Ocean at the Westport Timberland Library on Friday, August 8th, 10:30am. Free, and all ages. Westport Aquarium will be bringing microscopes and hand magnifiers to look up close at dried ocean specimens. Then participants can draw what they see onto their own bookmark or card!
National Night Out
It’s National Night Out on Tuesday August 5th. Westport will host an event in Harriet Dorland Municipal Park from 5:30-8pm. National Night Out enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community. Furthermore, it provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances. Come and help engage in strong relationships in your community by meeting your local police and fire members and have some food and games as well as a free raffle.

Ride The Harbor
Cyclist unite for Ride The Harbor. Enjoy the challenge of a 7.5 mi, 18 mi, or 52 mi ride through the natural beauty of Grays Harbor County on a perfect summer day (ages 16+). This sweeping journey through forests, farmlands, over rivers and hills has a spectacular finish right on the Pacific coast! The ride starts in McCleary and finishes in either Westport, Elma or Montesano (depending on your chosen distance).
Songs From the Heart with Peter Ali
Come to the Westport library on July 23rd from 12-1:30pm for a live musical performance by flutist, Peter Ali.
Peter will share songs and stories from Native American, MesoAmerican, Middle Eastern and Nordic cultures.Following his performance, Peter will loan* out flutes from his personal collection and offer an introduction to the basics of playing the Native American style flute.
*For ages 13+ to learn how to play the flute.
Peter Ali intertwines stories of his own indigenous ancestry and his connection to these instruments. He hopes to inspire confidence, healing and a better understanding of diversity and how we are all connected. Learn more at soundings.com.
SWELLONE Skimboard Classic
Check out the SwellOne Skimboard Classic on the beach in Grayland at 12pm on July 19th. Entry is free for all ages, and pros will be onsite to show off some cool tricks. Read more about the event here.
Explorations of Traditional Print and Film
Come to the Westport Library on July 18th from 10:30-11:30 a.m. to explore two historic 100-year-old machines from the past and create a unique mini movie with the Westport Aquarium!
First, you can hand crank and project your own film on a 100-year-old 35 millimeter hand crank film projector. We will be using markers to draw directly on 3 feet or more of 35 mm film leader. Using this method, you can watch your film right away. Bring the whole family or a group of friends and splice your sections of film together into one longer film.
The Westport Aquarium will also feature the 100-year-old Willits Canoe Company printing press, on loan from the Foss Waterway Seaport Museum, in honor of America's 250th anniversary. You will have a chance to print an acrostic poem with the theme "Libraries Are A Sea Of Books" directly on your film to get you started with a picture theme, and/or make a commemorative bookmark in the printing press.
Run Like the Wind Half Marathon 5K/10K
The Westport-Grayland Chamber of Commerce presents Run Like The Wind- Half Marathon, 10K, 5K Run/Walk. Sunday July 13th.
All the races will start at the marina, go down and around the Fishermen's Memorial and then head for the paved trail around Half Moon Bay and through Westhaven State Park. A little farther down the trail, the 5K folks will turn around and head back to the starting point. Those running the 10K will appreciate the ocean views as they continue south on the trail and then run around the Westport Lighthouse before returning to the marina. After running around the lighthouse, the Half Marathon participants will follow the signs to the beach where there will be 5.7 miles of running in the sand before returning to the marina. It's an event for everyone and truly a "wind-in-your-hair" experience!

Rusty Scupper's Pirate Daze
The Westport/Grayland Chamber of Commerce is excited to invite you to the 24th annual Rusty Scuppers Pirate Daze. Be Ye a pirate, a landlubber, a scallywag, a mermaid, or just a lover of the sea and the coast. You will definitely enjoy this weekend full of family-friendly fun, filled with live performers, music, great food, vendors, and pirates (the nice kind). Come dressed as a Pirate, Mermaid, or just Yeself and join the fun.
The Reptile Lady
Westport Timberland Library is hosting The Reptile Lady on June 26 from 10-11am. Snakes, alligators, and lizards! Join us for an interactive program with April Jackson, the Reptile Lady, and learn about having love and respect for reptiles. Get up close and personal with her reptile ambassadors…if you dare!
All ages are welcome; attending children require adult supervision for everyone’s safety and comfort.
